Importing Songs

Songs can be imported from two sources, namely from openlp.org song exports and from another opensource lyrics project application called OpenSong.

The import songs menu item can be found at the following location:

Importing from openlp.org

Upon selecting to import songs from openlp.org you will be presented with the following import assistant:

Follow these steps to import songs:

Select the file containing the song/s that you wish to import using the file selection dialog at the top of the window. Upon selection of the file, it will automatically be opened and the songs it contains listed in the left hand listbox called "Import File Song List"
Now select the songs you want to import from the list.
Press the >> button as indicated to add the selected song/s to the import list.
Once all the required songs are added to the song import list, press the Import button *.
The selected songs are now imported into the openlp.org song database, with the import progress shown in the Progress box.
Lastly, press Close to close the import assistant.

*Note: If the song being imported already exists in the openlp.org song database, you will be prompted as to which song you want.

Importing from OpenSong

Upon selecting to import songs from OpenSong you will be presented with the following import assistant:

Follow these steps to import songs:

Select the file containing the song/s that you wish to import using the file selection dialog at the top of the window.
Press the Import button *.
The songs are now imported into the openlp.org song database, with the import progress shown in the Progress box.
Lastly, press Close to close the import assistant.

*Note: If the song being imported already exists in the openlp.org song database, you will be prompted as to which song you want.
