cut down version

We have a small chuch with a limited budget and openlp has been great!  Thank the Lord for your abilities.  My idea was a cut down version using prehaps only the 'preview' pane (without the lower 'screen output' preveiw) so the singers out the front can have their own system seeing the next verse as they need, but keeping the compatability with the .oos and database files.  Duel screen support may not even be needed as the 'clone function' could be used if multiple outputs were required.

Thanks

Re: cut down version

On the Options->View menu it is possible to turn off the media manager, preview and theme manager. You can resize the other items by dragging the borders of each section and effectively removing the bits you don't want.

The font size of the song manager doesn't change though so your singers would need good eyesight if you're not using the preview! The preview font size should change but I just hit a few niggles trying this out so see how it goes!

Problems are that openlp.org doesn't remember any of this customization which is a bit irritating... as is the fact it all goes haywire if you then resize the main window.

(We use a monitor splitter instead so our singers see the same as the congregation)

Re: cut down version

I had played with the resizing of the panes etc - must have missed the turn off of the theme manager though!  and yes the settings aren't 'remembered' but - the reason I was suggesting this was as we are a small church in a small space we can't project a second screen and the singers want to see what is coming up as well, not being a programing guru I don't really know how easy it would be.  The result could be acheived using word or similar but that would mean a lot of doubling up!
