Fading and a few more
Hi...
well, I have a few thing I felt I missed after my first day of use.
I've tried many programs before, most of them freeware but I've also tried EasyWorship. In freeware, openlp.org wins...
Okay, down to business:
1. I would really like to be able to fade between slides and from/to black screen, then the screen won't feel like a pop-up in the same way and it feels more comfortable when you stand/sit in church too.
2. To be able to blank screen with background, so I can go back to where I was exactly like blank screen works right now
3. Somehow be able to mark the chorus (maybe color maybe a star, whatever) so it's easy to find your way back to it. Our musicians never follow any strict pattern, so you can't set up in what order they are gonna play the song.
4. Be able to choose a verse i the preview section and then when you click the live button (go live with selected song) it will show the verse you choosed in preview
I know I've used easy worship and I steal a few ideas from them, but you should take the stuff you appreciate and you'll get one really good program.
Still, this is a really good program...

Re: Fading and a few more
We'll be including transitions in openlp.org 1.2.
Click on the button under the live control panel that says, "close with theme background"
Verse order, etc. is coming in version 1.2.
We're thinking about something like this for version 1.2.
Whatever is not in the current version, that you're looking for, will probably be in version 1.2 when it's released. We don't have any time frames as yet, since this is not a commercial product, we do it in our spare time.

Not sure this does what wezzy wants. He said to work like blank screen so to keep the slide position etc. This has been requested before, and so will be added to the feature requests. Note if you are anticipating a "blank" verse, you can add one. See point 2 here
Re: Fading and a few more
You got it right gushie...
Okay then I know where we are at.
That's why I took the blank screen as example. Yes, I've seen the other buttons, but then you need to click on the song again to get it. It's not a big deal, but it would be nice. Thanks for the tip about the blank page in a song trick.
Besides that I'm translating the program to Swedish right now, is that anything you're interrested in putting on this page when it's done?
Re: Fading and a few more
I know you don't have any time frames for 1.2 yet, but I'm very curious about what kind of time it could be we're talking about here anyway. around a year...many years...somewhere in between...
I understand if you can't answer, but I'm just curious about how you look at it.
Re: Fading and a few more
We'll probably release 1.1.0, the first development version of 1.2, in June or July. There are a lot of changes that need to be made for 1.2, so the first really useful version will probably only be out at the end of the year.
Once again, no guarantees. It depends on how much time we have available. Workloads, sickness, and other things will obviously affect the amount of development we do.
