Application Layout

The openlp.org application window is set out in a clear, logical fashion, designed for easy access to all parts of the program from one screen. To help with the understanding of the program, we have prepared the following screen capture along with a numbered key.

1. Order of Service: This is a list of songs, verses, and other items for use in the service. To display an item live, simply double double-click on the item.
2. Song List: This contains the songs that are available for use in an order of service.
3. Live Control Panel: When in Live Mode, the screen control (3) shows all the verses of the current song. To change the song, double click on another song in the Order of Service pane (1). This is where you control the lyrics on screen. To change to another verse, simply click on the verse you want to view on screen.
4. Preview Control Panel: A quick view of the songs in the song list. Double click on a song in the song list .
5. Media Manager: Using tabs of the media manager, you can manage and add songs, Bible verses, presentations, videos and even images to your order of service.
6. Preview Mini Display: The small preview screen for the preview control panel.
7. Live Mini Display: The small display of what's happening on the live screen. Useful if the computer is at the back of the Church and you cannot see over the heads of the people in front of you.
8. Theme Manager: Add, edit and remove themes using the theme manager. Double click on a theme thumbnail to set it as the default global theme.
9. Order of Service Toolbar: Use the buttons in the toolbar to create, open or save an order of service, order the items in the order of service, and remove those you don't want.
10. Song Search: A very handy feature, the song search allows you to search for songs by lyrics, title or even author.
