Creating a New Song
So you need to add a new song to your database? Well, it's quite simple, really: just run the song wizard!
- Click on the New Song button in the Media Manager. This opens the Add Song Wizard.

Notice the "Switch to Classic View" in figure 1. We'll get to this later, but if you're getting tired of using the wizard all the time, and want a quick way to add songs, you'll use the classic view. Let's just click Next for now. - The first thing we need to know about a song is the title of the song, and the copyright information (see figure 2). Type these into the appropriate edit boxes, and then click Next to continue.

- Choose the authors for your song.

- Choose a theme for your song, if you use song-based themes. Selecting "No theme" leaves the theme setting unset, and then openlp.org will select either the current order of service's theme, or the global active theme.

- Once you've chosen a theme, you need to type in the lyrics of the song. Simply separate verses with a blank line. If you leave a space on the line, it will be counted as a valid line, so watch out for those!

- Finally, click the Finish button to save your song to the database.
