Playlist / Order of Service editing

I've noticed that editing an item (song) in the Playlist / Order of Service changes its features in the main database. I would suggest that the items in the playlist should only be copies of the main database items, so that one can customize a service without leaving permanent effects. Sticking with the current layout, the permanent database / original items may be customized on the left side whilst the temporary playlist items may be customized on the right hand side where the playlist and changes may be saved for future use.

this will not be possible to easily, because of the current way songs from oos's are automatically imported to the song db upon opening.

Re: Playlist / Order of Service editing

Yes the original database may be limited to add only some features, but surely the playlist / order of service is open for anything?

In conjunction with this feature is the grouping of items in the playlist. Currenlty a single group item is created for bible verses (i.e. if I want to add Gen 1 verse 1 - 6 to the order, only one item is added to the playlist grouping them). It would be nice to expand this single group item (like a folder is expanded in a file browser by clicking on the + sign) so that its contents could be viewed and edited (text and themes etc) to provide maximum flexibility. Once again, this item is no longer part of the original bible database where it got its contents from, but is a new seperate playlist item that can handle a lot more features. This may also allow mixing of different content.
