Good News Bible
I'm new to this forum so hi everyone,
Just to echo similar threads, what a great product.... it is encouraging and inspiring to see a team of dedicated individuals putting the time and gifts to good use so that other Christians can not only benefit from these but also engage with God.
Anyway back to the point!
I'm wanting to get our church using OpneLP for all the obvious reasons but I want to import a 'Good News' translation of the bible. Can anybody point me in the right direction for where to get this electronically and ensure this is done legally.
For info, we are based in the UK.
Dave.

Re: Good News Bible
As far as the legality of downloading that particular translation is concerned, I am personally not a lawyer, so I won't assume to tell you that downloading an electronic copy of what you already own in hard copy is legal or illegal. Because of that, I would encourage you to direct that question to the Licensing, Rights & Permissions Dept. at American Bible Society, 1-800-596-6296, ext. 1425 or the webmaster at www.americanbible.org. They are able to answer the legality question with authority.
That said, the translation does show up on the Crosswalk website, so once you have permission to get an electronic copy, you should be able to use the Bible download utility (from the 'useful utilities' link on the download page) to download it in the correct format for importing into openlp.
