editing/creating songs using Windows IME Japanese

I have enjoyed using openlp.org for projecting english lyrics. I also want to do this with Japanese songs.  I am using Windows Vista (English) with openlp.org version 1.0.

In most programs I can use the Windows IME for Japanese fonts to type in Japanese. In fact, when I open the openlp Song Wizard I can also type in Japanese and it shows up. However, once I hit enter it turns into simple dots on the screen.

Our other computer is Windows XP (Japanese) and I can get a little further. We can get the Japanese onto the song wizard and when we put the song into the preview or live windows it shows up in Japanese in the control window. However, the fonts are just strange symbols on the screen view.

Any suggestions on how I could use Japanese with this software?

Re: editing/creating songs using Windows IME Japanese

Sorry.  I don't think there is any workaround.  I tried.  I reported an almost identical problem w/ the Chinese character set.  I just don't think OpenLP v1.0 handles double-byte characters correctly.

It's not so much openlp.org handling double-byte characters, as the font that openlp.org uses. We're going to be addressing all of these issues in 1.2.
