Import data after upgrade

We currently use openlp version .99

I downloaded and am testing version 1.0 RC6. The new version looks great and has more features than the old. I guess that's the whole point of a new version. I would like to bring our current information into the new version. I copied the songs.olp from the old folder into the new one after renaming the current songs.olp. Now the song database is completely empty in the new version.

I can't seem to locate how to do this. Will someone please instruct me or point me to directions on how to get my database from .99 into 1.0 RC6.

Thanks for all your help

Re: Import data after upgrade

I'll leave someone else to comment on how to upgrade, but you should be using version 1.0, which is the latest version. RC6 is an older pre-release version.

Click the Download link on the left and you'll see version 1.0 under the "Latest Release" heading.

Re: Import data after upgrade

I've changed my mind, I won't leave someone else to comment :-)

At the bottom of the same download page, you'll see a "Database Importer" section which contains the download for converting the 0.994 database to the new version.

The database file formats have changed significantly between these versions, so you can't just copy one to the other.

Re: Import data after upgrade

The importer worked great.

I didn't want to leave all the songs that come with OpenLp in the database because many would be duplicated after importing.  So, I deleted all of them and then tried to import.  That didn't work.  I then restored the default database from a copy of it that I made before messing with it.  I deleted all the songs but one that time.  Then imported the old database and deleted the one song that I had left.  Worked great.

Thanks.
