Video Display
Hi there,
Just doing some research before we transition to openlp. I scanned through the forums, downloaded ac3 filter along with the xp codec pack and I am still not able to even pick up the video files on a standard dvd.
When I open up the dvd in explorer it shows the video files, however it is showing them as .vob and not in the format that openlp recognizes.
I have been using videolan as my default player so I tried uninstalling it to see if that would work but it does not.
I am guessing that this is not an openlp problem but a configuration problem with how my computer is looking at video files. Does anyone know how to change how your computer looks at video files by default?
Thank you for your time.
Dean.

Re: Video Display
In the current version of openlp.org, the "Load Video" dialog has a number of video extensions hard-coded. In the upcoming 1.0.1 release (which we're hoping to release in about 2 weeks) you will be able to select from more formats. openlp.org supports all the formats that can be played using Media Player. A quick work around is to type in "*.*" in the "filename" box, and that should reveal all the files.
Re: Video Display
Hi Raoul,
That seemed to work for the video, but I could not get the audio. I will keep playing around with it and wait until the upcoming release.
Great work. I am going to recommend this to the local churches in our area.
Thanks again.
Dean.
Re: Video Display
I've just been reading your post again, and realised that my previous answer, while technically correct, was not the right answer to your question. DVD is not the same as video files. DVD's have video vob files, and audio vob files. In order to play the right audio with the right video, you need a proper DVD player.
openlp.org 1.2 will feature DVD playback, but until such time, you might want to use VLC or another DVD player.
