Developer Meeting in IRC on Monday
Hi folks,
We've decided to hold a developers meeting on Monday at 20:00 GMT in the openlp.org IRC channel. If you are interested in helping out with the development of openlp.org version 2.x, then please feel free to come and see what we're chatting about.
If you're not a programmer, then please don't worry about this. We're just going to be chatting about our plans for how to develop openlp.org 2.0.
Our IRC channel can be found on the Freenode network, and the channel itself is #openlp.org

Hi, I'm not a programmer but I'm wondering what the outcome of monday's meeting was & if there were any further developments there.
For my part I'll throw in my $0.10 worth (I'm allowing for inflation brought on by the crisis in the American subprime market
).
1) I think that the ability to run/bookmark DVDs is important. This is a key feature for me and I think once OpenLP has it it will really stand head and shoulders above all other software of this type.
2) Is it possible to do an import feature that allows for lyrics to be imported/edited stright from word/openoffice?
3) Yes, please keep it simple, very important. I have tried other freeware/shareware software and some of it is really too complicated (I think 'bizarre' was one word used). I am not very computer savvy & I dwell among a people who are even less computer savvy - so the easier the features are to use the better.
4) I note that there is a possibility of making OpenLP compatible with Openoffice. I think that's great and will certainly broaden the appeal.
Keep up the good work - you have a good program here.
Re: Developer Meeting in IRC on Monday
Sorry I missed the IRC chat, I was at work and well firewalled. I am curious as to the chat as well, is it logged anywhere?
After hearing you were going python, I am curious as to whether it is PyQT or WX or whatever. Also for DVD's, are you leaning tward using the engine from Xine... or has that even been discussed?
After being gone for well over a year, It is nice to see how you picked up the project Raoul... Thanks for all your work.(and thanks to every one else who is helping)
